Which motorcycle helmet should you buy for your budget?

ADN offers ECE 22.06 certified motorcycle helmets from €64.95, from the simplest open-face helmet to adventure models. Every helmet passes the same certification: paying more gets you a different type of helmet and more features (sun visor, Pinlock, flip-up chin guard, peak visor), not a “more certified” helmet.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does ECE 22.06 approval mean?

ECE 22.06 is Europe’s most stringent safety standard for motorcycle helmets, coming into force in 2024. It includes rotational impact tests (which the previous 22.05 standard did not include), more impact points in the tests, and stricter requirements for visors and fastening systems. All ADN helmets are certified to this standard.

The Stelvio, Veloce, Cosmo and Audace models are Pinlock-ready: they are compatible with the Pinlock anti-fog insert (sold separately), which prevents the visor from fogging up in cold or damp conditions. The Spritz and Mojito models do not feature Pinlock due to their jet-style design with a short visor.

Measure the circumference of your head at its widest point (across the forehead and the back of the neck) using a tape measure. Sizes range from XS (53–54 cm) to XXL (63–64 cm), depending on the model. The helmet should fit snugly but not be too tight: when you move your head, the helmet should move with it, without any slack.

ADN helmets are sold via this website (the official online shop). You’re entitled to one free size exchange, but with the size guide you shouldn’t have any problems. You can also find ADN helmets in the list of specialist retailers.

An ECE 22.06 certified helmet doesn’t have to be expensive: ADN offers open-face helmets from €64.95, full-face helmets from €89.95 and modular or adventure helmets from €129.95. They all pass the same certification tests; what changes with price is the type of helmet and its features, not the level of protection required by the standard.
