What is the advantage of a modular flip-up helmet over a full-face helmet?
The flip-up chin guard allows you to open the helmet at stops without removing it – to talk, drink water, pay tolls or simply get a breath of fresh air. With the chin guard closed, it offers the same protection as a full-face helmet. It is the ideal choice for those who use the bike every day and need practicality.
Can I ride with the chin guard open on a modular helmet?
It depends on the homologation. Helmets with P/J homologation (double homologation) allow to legally ride with the chin guard open. Helmets with only P homologation – such as the ADN Audace – are certified for use with the chin guard closed. You can open it when stopped, but to ride you must have it down.
Are modular helmets heavier than full-face helmets?
In general, yes, because the flip-up chin guard mechanism adds weight. The Audace ADN weighs 1,650 grams in the smallest size – a reasonable weight for a full-featured modular.
Does the Audace ADN have sunglasses and Pinlock?
Yes. It includes integrated multi-position sunglasses that activate from the upper front area without taking your hands off the handlebars. And the screen is Pinlock-ready, which prevents fogging in cold or wet weather – especially useful on winter rides or rainy days.
In which versions is Audace ADN available?
Audace is available in two graphic lines: Pulsar, with urban design in gray combinations, and Tourer, with touring-inspired graphics and higher color contrast. Both share the same housing, display, ventilation and safety system – the difference is purely aesthetic.
